I am a day dreamer and I am often thinking about moments in time that hold real beauty. Those moments are all around us and most people don't even see them. The sun shinning through the trees, a man standing at the street corner waiting to cross, even a cold wet winter day in the afternoon. Some of these trivial things in life can be powerful if you let them be. I try to see the world as it is and not what I think it should be.
When I paint I want those viewing my work to feel those same things. I use color and form to convey those messages. Many times I get so involved in the color, value, and composition the subject becomes less relevant. It's all about conveying that message of beauty in the end.
I am still learning as I am sure I always will be. Void of any formal training I use books, practice, my own determined will and whatever other resource I can find to guide me. I work primarily in oils and acrylics on a variety of surfaces. I am continually adapting my art and drive to meet my current goals and ambitions. I welcome and invite those that want to see the process as it unfolds.
